Choosing the right sized chandelier.

Getting a new chandelier or any other lighting fixture, can mean more than just lighting up a room or a space in your house or store. When you are choosing a lighting fixture there are a lot of things to take into consideration, at a first glance they might seem unimportant, or you might think no one will notice it that much. Here we will be discussing one of those points, picking the right sized chandelier.

1-   Take measurements, not just for the room or area you want to hang the chandelier in, if the chandelier is going to be above something, a focal point like a dining table for example, take the measurements of the dining table. If the chandelier is above a rug or a piece of furniture, take measurements.

2-   Keep shapes in mind. Pick a round chandelier if there is a round table or rug under it, a rectangular or a vertical designed chandelier if there is a rectangular table or rug under it. With keeping proportions in your calculations.

3-   Height is also an important factor when installing a chandelier, when the chandelier is above a dining table, the bottom of the chandelier should be around 70cm above the table, as for the height of a chandelier that is hung in a hallway or in an area with nothing under it, the chandelier should not be lower than 2 meters, to allow enough space to move under it.

4-   Other than measurements, the style of the chandelier is a big factor, a make it or break it kinda thing. Be mindful of the style and aesthetic of your area.

5-   The visual weight of the chandelier is one more thing that should be looked into when getting a chandelier, it will affect the size of the chandelier you will need. A visually heavy chandelier can be a little smaller, and a visually light chandelier can be a little wider than what you need for your room.

These are just some of the things you need to do and look into before deciding on a chandelier.
